Goals
English (Continúe para español)
As the teachers of Gompers Preparatory Academy, we believe, above all else, in our students.
Over its lifetime, Gompers Preparatory has taken monumental steps toward achievement for all students. Gompers has improved our community and sent hundreds of students to college. We aim to continue that work and push Gompers forward, in the same direction, by helping guide our school and our students toward college and beyond.
As professionals, we cannot best serve our students while working in an unstable, unpredictable atmosphere. To best advocate for our students, we must begin by advocating for ourselves.
We can help achieve this by:
By joining together and establishing an association for ourselves, we ensure that our voices as educators will be heard. Meeting these goals will increase teacher retention, provide a stable learning environment, and thereby ensure consistent academic quality for our students.
As we move forward, we stand with the mission and goals of Gompers Preparatory Academy.
Our movement to create this association at GPA is the best way for teachers to help ensure that the mission and goals of our wonderful school are not only upheld as idealistic talking points, but met with success.
We will continue to work for our students, and look forward to working with our administration to create the working and learning environment best suited for our community.
With Students First,
Cheryl Carr (11th year at GPA)
Susan Davis (3rd year at GPA)
Azucena García (6th year at GPA)
Puneet Gill (3rd year at GPA)
James Harding (3rd year at GPA)
Trisha Harding (4th year at GPA)
John Meléndez (3rd year at GPA)
David Suh (5th year at GPA)
